Reducing Single Use Plastic
For over a decade HellermannTyton has been removing plastic from its packaging and is now free from polybags in many of its ranges. We are working to remove them from all products where possible.
This reduction in plastic packaging not only has a positive impact on the environment but provides additional benefits including reduced installation times from simply reducing the time it takes to remove the products from their packaging.
Our corrugated cardboard packaging is made from up to 70% recycled materials and is 100% recyclable. They are also FSC Certified which means they are made with materials from well-managed forests and/or recycled sources.
Products made from Recycled Materials
HellermannTyton are constantly reviewing the raw materials we use in our current product range and exploring how and where we can utilise recycled materials as an alternative.
At HellermannTyton we have already introduced the TobyBox300, an in-ground enclosure designed specifically for home connections in the last mile network. The TobyBox is manufactured entirely from recycled materials.
Over in Germany at gabocom, we have introduced a new range of duct branches made from recycled material and at our HellermannTyton Estonia site we are producing large diameter Utility Duct that are manufactured using a combination of recycled and raw materials.
Car Fleet goes Electric
Small gains go a long way! At HellermannTyton we have taken steps to replace our diesel and petrol vehicles in our car fleet with electric cars. We have installed a number of EV charging points at our head office in Northampton for colleagues with fleet vehicles to charge up before business trips.
These small initiatives help contribute to our overall sustainability goals while having a positive impact on the environment.
